Son - It's not just a word

I can say and just forget.

It's a word that I can say

Without a speck of regret.

It's an answered prayer,

It's music to the ears.

It's the greatest memories

It's happiness and tears.

When I think of years past

And things that make me smile.

I think of his smiling face

I remember every driven mile.

I hear someone say 'Son'

And I can't help but think of Dad.

I think childhood and fun,

About all the best times I ever had.

It's one of those words said

So many times when we talk.

One day spent in my head

And you'd gladly take this walk.

And yet the amazing thing,

The wonder found in it all

God's what makes this word sing ;

It's His Son's cross that stands tall.

For that legacy done right

That's to be taught to every son

Is the reason for the fight;

It is finished: it is done.

You see, it's way more than chance

That this word has rung so loud.

It's made life such a dance

And made every dad so proud.

Son... it's Him who died

SON, it's more than just a word.

Son, you might not know-

It's the best word I ever heard.
