12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:12-14, NIV
"For such a moment as this;"
It's one of my favorite phrases.
It can apply to so many points in history
In all its various phases.
Many of us come to crossroads,
Points in our life we must decide.
Many people think how they might change the world
While many in the Lord abide.
The Mighty Author of Heaven and Earth,
The Creator God who made us all
Gives everyone a potential part,
Whether you're big or small.
But He has a giant advantage
As that Ultimate writer of the universe.
He can step in and out of time,
He can even make time go in reverse (2 Kings 20:8-11).
But nonetheless he can use us;
Anyone of us that He so chooses.
We are like clay creations and characters,
Our gifts and talents from Him he uses.
But we are more than just pawns, you see.
For not only has He told us how it ends
But because He always loved His children,
He gave us a way to be on the eternal side - that wins.
Since FOR NOW we're stuck in this timeline,
And we do have our parts to play,
All we have to do is choose Him;
Simply choose to follow the Way.
So whether you've already chosen
To pick up your 'Sword' in the name of Christ,
Or you're still on the fence in this moment,
Seeing things in THIS world aren't always nice.
Whether you've come to that crossroads
In your workplace or even in your church,
Understand we do have limited time,
Only so much time left to soul-search.
But it's your soul the Lord will take,
And turn you into something entirely new.
Should you choose to come to Jesus,
He will show you, a New You!
Please don't take too much longer.
Just connect the dots and know this -
There's no better time than the present -
YOU WERE MADE FOR SUCH A MOMENT AS THIS.
I pray all who read this, know how true I pray these words are for each and everyone of you. If I've ever upset you, stepped on your toes with ill intentions in the past because of my anger flaws - I am sorry. But the words to this poem were heavy on my heart tonight, because I've known so many people, especially over the past year or so, who've collided with such tragedy, challenges, and hardships in their lives. I've also listened to others who've come to difficult turning points and decisions, who I pray nothing but the best for their future, especially when it comes to serving the Kingdom of Christ.
God bless you all, and if you get a moment, dive into Scripture to just seek a little bit of the reasons for the hope I happen to have. Maybe then the words to the poem will make even more sense.
In Christ,
JEF
