Hello folks! It's been almost a whole month since I last posted. A lot of things have happened in a month, and let me tell you... during the first week of it, I felt like everything that was near and dear to me in this world was going awry. I thought surely God must be mad at us all; the whole world surely can't have lost its mind this bad!
But my wife calmly made a suggestion - and I listened...and I tried it. I simply removed that cursed social media app, with the white 'f' in the blue background; you know the one.
That's right; I no longer had instant access at my fingertips or in my pocket, to the worst news, worst vitriol, worst opinions, worst disagreements, worst idea from a good idea gone bad --------- and my life is so much better for it!
Don't get me wrong. There are some people who probably took the time to cater their personal settings just so, so they wouldn't be affected by what's happening in the world. But my world was inundated by it. My page made me aware of lots and lots of things....notifications to all things right, left, in the middle, conspiracy, sports-heroes-gone-traitor - you name it.
And, Jason being Jason, rarely kept his opinion to himself. But it was starting to make my blood boil.
So one little suggestion from my wife is all it took (well, and me giving in) to take the negativity away. My wife will tell you, the past couple of weeks, I've been the old Jason. Well, ok...maybe not all old Jason. I mean I know some Wing Chun and some warrior ethos stuff, and that some conspiracies just aren't conspiracy anymore - BUT, it's not my focus.
I've focused more on being a little of the positive new Jason. I've spent more time reading the Bible, reading other novels, writing a new biographical novel about my grandfather, getting ready to get to know kids at a new school, in my new job as a new school resource officer.
Don't misunderstand me. I still know ALL THE THINGS that were true, that truly bothered me, and to an extent still do.
For example, I know that if things continue the way they are going, even if Trump wins, and we have a national leader who isn't dead set on ending Christianity and morality and freedom and family in America - this country, the way we KNEW it, will still end.
But I'm just gonna have to go through life until that happens, making the biggest positive impact on others I can make. I don't have the means to prepare anymore than I already have, so I'd rather just focus on my writing, my martial arts, and being the best husband, father, uncle, brother, son, SRO, and Christian I can be along the way.
I still have an account with that dreaded blue and white app. From now on, I'm turning a new leaf, and you'll only see blog posts like this one, bible verses that move me, book promotions. And the occasional warrior philosophy nugget of info, probably inspired by either work or my sifu.
So if you want a good old fashioned Jason rant, you can always pick my brain in person. Besides, if you're still not aware of the truth out there that you really need to know by now, it's way too late for you anyway. But on this thing we call the internet, it's just gonna be good vibes from here on out.
